SayIt Translator Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 17, 2026

Last Updated: September 17, 2026

SayIt Translator ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, processed, collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the SayIt Translator mobile application (the "App").

The App provides text, voice, conversation, camera and photo translation, translation history, and related language features. Depending on the feature you select, information may be processed on your device or through online translation and recognition services. The App may also use advertising, analytics, attribution, and related software development kits ("SDKs").

Using the App means that you acknowledge this Policy. This acknowledgment does not replace a separate consent or device permission required for particular processing.

1. Information Processed by SayIt Translator

1.1 Camera

With your permission, SayIt Translator may use your device's camera to capture text for recognition and translation. Camera access is controlled through the iOS permission system and can be revoked in device settings.

Text recognition from camera captures is performed using Apple’s on-device recognition frameworks. The recognized text and selected language settings are then sent directly from the App to Baidu Translate when you request an online translation. The request is not routed through our own translation servers.

1.2 Photos and Images

The App may let you select an image from your photo library to recognize and translate its text. Access is limited by your selection and the permissions you grant through iOS.

When you request image translation, the selected or cropped image, text recognized from that image, and the source and target language settings are sent directly from the App to Baidu Translate. Therefore, selected images are not always processed only on your device.

1.3 Text and Translation Content

The App may process text that you type or paste, text recognized from images, speech transcripts, source and target language selections, and translation results.

Submitted content may contain names, contact details, messages, addresses, or other personal information. This content is handled to carry out requested functions such as translation, pronunciation playback, copying, sharing, and viewing past results.

Please avoid submitting passwords, confidential documents, or other sensitive information unless you are entitled to do so and understand the processing involved.

1.4 Voice and Conversation Data

When you choose voice or conversation translation, the App may request microphone access to capture speech. Audio, recognized words, selected languages, and translated responses may be processed to recognize speech, produce translations, and provide playback.

Speech recognition may require a separate system permission. If an online service supports the selected feature, audio or transcribed text may be transmitted for processing.

Before translating another person's speech, inform them that their voice will be captured and processed, and obtain any permission required by applicable law. You can revoke microphone and applicable speech recognition permissions in device settings.

1.5 Translation History

The App may keep previous translation records so that you can revisit or manage them. Records may include original text, recognized or transcribed text, translated results, languages, translation type, and related date or time information.

History may be stored locally on your device. You can remove records using available history controls. Removing the App and its local data will generally remove locally stored records, subject to device backup and restoration services.

Deleting local history does not necessarily delete content previously transmitted to an online service. Section 11 explains retention, and Section 17 provides contact details for deletion requests.

2. Information You Provide Directly

You choose the material submitted through the App's translation features. The information processed depends on the content and functions you select.

If you contact us for support or feedback, we may receive your email address, message, and any attachments or diagnostic details you provide. We use this information to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain relevant support records. Please do not include unnecessary private translation content in a support request.

3. Advertising, Analytics, and Attribution Data

In addition to processing translation requests, the App may use integrated services for advertising, campaign measurement, attribution, app analytics, performance monitoring, fraud prevention, and app improvement.

Depending on the SDK, configuration, region, permissions, and privacy choices, these services may process:

·         IP address and approximate location inferred from it;

·         Device manufacturer and model, operating system and version, app version, language, country or region, and time zone;

·         Network connection and related technical information;

·         Device identifiers, Identifier for Vendors (IDFV), Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) where permitted, installation identifiers, and SDK-specific identifiers;

·         App launches, sessions, screen interactions, and configured feature-use events;

·         Ad impressions, clicks, interactions, placements, and advertising performance;

·         Installation and advertising attribution information;

·         Crash, diagnostic, and performance information; and

·         Consent signals, advertising preferences, and other privacy choices.

Not every provider receives every category listed here. The information processed depends on the SDK functionality enabled and the settings and permissions applicable to you. Translation content is described separately in Section 1.

4. Third-Party Services

The following services may support the App, depending on the functions and integrations used.

Translation and Speech Recognition Services

Baidu Translate

SayIt Translator uses Baidu Translate to provide online translation. Depending on the feature used, the following information may be sent:

l  Text Translation: Submitted text and source and target language settings;

l  Voice and Conversation Translation: Transcribed text and language settings;

l  Camera Translation: Text recognized from the captured image and language settings;

l  Image Translation: The selected or cropped image, recognized text, and language settings.

Baidu Translate may also receive your IP address as part of the network connection. Submitted text and images may contain personal information that you choose to include.

Apple Speech Recognition

SayIt Translator uses Apple’s Speech framework to convert speech into text for voice and conversation translation. Depending on the device, language, and availability of on-device recognition, audio may be processed on the device or sent to Apple’s servers. The resulting text is sent to Baidu Translate when you request online translation.

Translation Content Consent

Before sending translation content to Baidu Translate, the App identifies the recipient, explains what information will be sent and why, and requests your explicit consent.

You may decline. If you decline, the content will not be transmitted and features requiring online translation will not be available. You may withdraw your consent through Settings > Translation Privacy, which will stop future transmissions.

Camera, photo library, microphone, and speech recognition permissions are separate from consent to transmit translation content to Baidu Translate.

Google Firebase

Firebase services, including Google Analytics for Firebase where enabled, may support usage analysis, performance assessment, troubleshooting, and app improvement. The data processed depends on the Firebase products and settings used and may include device, application, identifier, usage, and diagnostic information.

Privacy information: Privacy and Security in Firebase.

Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads

Google advertising services may support ad display, measurement, fraud prevention, and service improvement. Processing may involve identifiers, device and network information, IP addresses, ad interactions, and performance data. Personalization depends on applicable consent and settings.

Privacy information: Google Privacy Policy.

Meta

Meta technologies, such as the Facebook SDK or App Events, may support campaign measurement, attribution, analytics, and advertising optimization. Enabled functionality may process installation, session, app launch, and other configured event information.

Privacy information: Meta Privacy Policy.

AppLovin

AppLovin technologies, including its SDK or MAX, may support advertising delivery, mediation, measurement, attribution, optimization, fraud prevention, and analytics. Processing may involve device, application, network, identifier, preference, and advertising-event information, depending on the integration and privacy choices.

Privacy information: AppLovin Privacy Policy.

Advertising and Mediation Partners

Additional advertising providers may participate through mediation arrangements. Where required, information about participating providers is made available through the App's consent interface.

Providers may act on our behalf or as independent controllers, depending on the service and processing involved. Their privacy policies explain their practices and available privacy tools. A provider's inclusion in this section does not mean that it receives every type of information submitted through the App.

5. Advertising and Personalized Advertising

SayIt Translator may show contextual or non-personalized advertisements, or personalized advertisements based on information that may lawfully be used and your consent choices.

Where applicable law requires consent for personalized advertising or related processing, we will request it before that processing begins. Refusing personalized advertising does not remove access to the App's core translation functions.

You may still see contextual or non-personalized advertisements after refusing personalization. Advertising choices and permissions for online translation are separate.

6. App Tracking Transparency

Where the App or its partners access the IDFA or engage in tracking covered by Apple's AppTrackingTransparency ("ATT") requirements, we will request authorization through Apple's system prompt before doing so.

You can change your tracking choice in iOS settings. We will respect that choice and will not use alternative identifiers to circumvent a refusal. Accepting this Policy or granting camera or microphone access does not constitute ATT authorization.

7. External Links

The App, advertisements, or content you translate may include links to external websites or services. Opening a link can send information associated with the request, such as your IP address and device or browser information, to the destination.

Third-party websites are operated independently and have their own privacy practices. We do not control their content, security, or information handling. Review their privacy policies before supplying personal information.

8. How We Use Information

Information processed through SayIt Translator and supporting services may be used to:

·         Provide requested text, voice, conversation, camera, and photo translation;

·         Recognize speech or text in images and provide pronunciation playback;

·         Display, copy, share, and manage translation results and history;

·         Deliver advertisements and permitted personalization;

·         Measure advertising and attribute app installations and campaigns;

·         Understand general usage and feature performance;

·         Diagnose crashes, resolve technical issues, and improve reliability;

·         Respond to support requests and feedback;

·         Prevent fraud, abuse, security threats, and invalid advertising activity; and

·         Meet legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of users and partners.

The information needed for a selected translation feature is described in Section 1. Advertising-related processing and choices are described in Sections 3 through 6.

9. GDPR and European Privacy Rights

This section applies where the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") or similar European data protection laws govern our processing of your personal data.

9.1 Legal Bases for Processing

Performance of a service or contract. We process information where necessary to provide a function you request, such as translating text, recognizing speech, or returning a translation from an image.

Consent. Where required, we rely on consent for transmitting translation content to Baidu Translate, personalized advertising, advertising identifiers, certain analytics or measurement activities, and other processing that requires consent.

Legitimate interests. Where permitted, limited processing may support security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, service stability, basic performance measurement, and protection of our services. We consider these interests alongside your rights and freedoms.

Legal obligations. We may process information when necessary to meet binding legal, regulatory, or court requirements.

9.2 Consent for European Users

Where consent is necessary, we will provide an appropriate mechanism before activating the processing concerned. Advertising disclosures and consent requests will address relevant device access, personal-data uses, and personalization where applicable.

You may refuse consent or withdraw it later through Settings > Translation Privacy. Withdrawing consent stops future transmissions to Baidu Translate but does not affect processing lawfully completed before withdrawal.

9.3 Your GDPR Rights

Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, your rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to certain processing or direct marketing, withdrawal of consent, and lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Send requests concerning information we handle to [email protected]. We may request reasonable information to verify and locate the request.

Information existing only on your device cannot be remotely accessed or deleted by us; use the available local controls. Requests concerning information independently controlled by a service provider may also require that provider's privacy tools. Contact us for requests involving information processed on our behalf.

9.4 Right to Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time where consent is the legal basis. Prior lawful processing remains unaffected.

Apple tracking authorization can be managed separately under iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Feature permissions, such as microphone or camera access, have their own device controls.

9.5 Right to Lodge a Complaint

Where applicable, you may complain to the competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe your information has been processed unlawfully. You may also contact us so that we can try to resolve the concern; doing so is not a prerequisite to exercising your complaint rights.

10. International Data Transfers

Providers supporting translation, recognition, advertising, analytics, attribution, diagnostics, or infrastructure may operate in countries other than your country of residence. Information may therefore be processed outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area.

Where GDPR transfer requirements apply, we or the relevant provider will use an appropriate lawful mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other safeguards or grounds permitted by applicable law.

You may contact us for information about safeguards applicable to your information.

11. Data Retention

Retention depends on the information involved and the purpose for which it is processed.

Local SayIt Translator Data

Locally stored history may remain until you remove the records or delete the App and its data. Device backups or restoration services may retain separate copies. We generally cannot recover information that exists only on your device after you delete it.

Online Translation and Recognition Data

Baidu states that personal information is retained for the shortest period necessary to provide its services and is deleted or anonymized after the applicable period, unless longer retention is required for legal, security, technical, complaint-handling, or dispute-resolution purposes.

When Apple’s server-based speech recognition is used, Apple states that related transcripts and request data may be retained for up to two years. A limited reviewed subset may be retained longer under Apple’s applicable privacy terms.

Deleting local translation history does not automatically delete content previously transmitted to Baidu Translate or Apple. You may contact us at [email protected] for assistance with an applicable deletion request.

Analytics and Advertising Data

Retention of advertising, attribution, usage, security, and diagnostic information depends on the purpose, service settings, provider policies, fraud prevention needs, security needs, and applicable legal obligations.

Support Communications

We may keep support messages and related information for the period reasonably needed to respond, investigate, and maintain service records.

We seek to retain personal information no longer than reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, subject to applicable legal requirements.

12. Data Sharing

Information may be disclosed, as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, to:

·         Baidu Translate for online translation and Apple for speech recognition, as described in Section 4;

·         Google services, including Firebase and AdMob, where used;

·         Meta and AppLovin, where used;

·         Participating advertising mediation, demand, analytics, and attribution providers;

·         Technology, infrastructure, security, and fraud prevention providers; and

·         Government, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities when legally required.

You may also direct the App to share original content or translation results through a service you select. That destination's terms and privacy policy apply to information it receives.

The category of information disclosed depends on the selected feature and recipient. Including a provider in this section does not mean that your text, photos, audio, or history are disclosed to every listed provider. Any required consent must be obtained before the relevant sharing.

13. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, disclosure, loss, and destruction.

We require third-party service providers receiving personal information from the App to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection as described in this Privacy Policy. We assess their applicable safeguards, including restrictions on processing purposes, confidentiality, security, retention, deletion, and onward sharing, and require appropriate contractual protections where applicable.

No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Take care when submitting sensitive material, using a shared device, or sharing translation results with others.

14. Children's Privacy

SayIt Translator is a general-purpose language utility and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in violation of applicable law.

Where parental or guardian authorization is legally required, the relevant processing should not take place without that authorization.

If you believe that a child's information has been handled improperly, contact [email protected]. We will review the concern and take appropriate action as required.

15. Your Device and Privacy Controls

Depending on your device, region, and available functions, you can manage information handling through:

·         The App's available history and privacy controls;

·         Advertising consent and preference controls;

·         Apple's ATT settings;

·         Camera and photo access settings;

·         Microphone and speech recognition permission settings; and

·         Other applicable iOS privacy controls.

·         Translation-content consent under Settings > Translation Privacy;

Disabling a permission may prevent the corresponding feature from working, but should not prevent unrelated functions from being used. Revoking a permission stops the access it controls; it does not necessarily delete information already processed.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Policy when the App, third-party services, advertising or analytics practices, legal requirements, or our information handling changes.

The revised version will show a new Last Updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent before a material change in how personal information is processed takes effect.
